ACL Informatics Tournament 2025
Date: Sunday, March 23, 2025
Location: Academies of Loudoun, Leesburg, VA
Join us for an exciting day of coding, collaboration, and competition at the ACL Informatics Tournament, the first ever in Academies of Loudoun history! This in-person event welcomes middle and high school students of all experience levels to tackle algorithmic problems in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Please read the information packet for more details and logistic information about the contest.
Event Highlights:
Team Size: Up to 4 members
Divisions: Classical (beginner-friendly) and Advanced
Prizes: 500-1,000$ value prize pool for both divisions. Custom Trophies for top 3 teams and certificates for special awards.
Extras: Trophies (Custom Wooden Plaques), Free food, ACL merch, and fun surprises like balloons!

Whether you're a seasoned coder or a curious beginner, this tournament offers a chance to sharpen problem-solving skills, collaborate under pressure, and build your resume—all while having fun! We encourage all people to come, regardless of prior experience or skill.
FAQ
1. Who can participate?
Any middle or high school student is welcome to compete, regardless of programming experience!
2. How many members can a team have?
Teams can have up to 4 members.
3. What is the difference between the Classical and Advanced Divisions?
The Classical Division is for teams with little to no prior programming experience or those who haven’t taken AP Computer Science. The Advanced Division is for teams with more experience or advanced coursework.
4. Do we need to bring our own laptops?
Yes, each team must bring one laptop or PC to use during the competition.
5. What programming languages are allowed?
Any language supported by Codeforces is allowed.
6. What will the schedule look like?
The competition will take place on Sunday, March 23, 2025.
9:30 AM: Arrival
10:00 AM: Orientation
11:00 AM – 2:00 PM: Main Competition
2:45 PM: Awards Ceremony
7. What prizes are available?
Prizes include certificates and awards valued up to $100 for top teams in each division.
8. How do we register?
Registration will be managed via Google Forms. Sign up early as spots are limited!
